National Timeshare Helpline
Those of you who have been following the headlines in the old Scambusters Home Page will be well aware
of the myriads of scam companies we have reported on.
According to ITRA (International Timeshare Refund Action) they are funding a class action on behalf of
owners and ex owners who banked their weeks with an exchange organisation to recover management fees
and other costs from the Exchange Company who skimmed off weeks and resold them and did not pass on
the money to the owners who had banked their weeks with them.
The NTH was the body set up to sign members up to this class action and no fees will be paid. However, we
have been advised by ITRA that the NTH is no more and they are concentrating their efforts through ITRA
and promoted by the Owners Action Website.
We are not aware of any other website promoting this action, other than ITRA and the Owners Action,
however we are willing, as an INDEPENDENT WEBSITE to reccomend this to our subscribers and indeed,
any owner or ex owner, for the time being.
Once this class action is fought and hopefully won the money will be paid out to the owners at
the rate of 25% for ITRA? and 75% for the owner.
As it stands right now, the owners have lost anyway, and so have ITRA who have put £500,000 into funding
this action. So the gamble is huge for them as a company. The owner has nothing to lose as the contract is
on a NO WIN NO FEE basis.
Therefore by signing up to the Class Action, it seems that it will cost you nothing, and you will be taking part
in a Class Action against these companies and you stand more chance of obtaining compensation when
their is a judicial ruling involved and the legal fees are of no consequence.
After all as someone once said to me; 75% of something is better than 100% of nothing.
